Design Rules Used by This Calculator
Wire defaults: 12V/24V → 20 AWG; 36V/48V → 18 AWG. Users can manually choose 20/18/16 AWG.
Recommended current guidelines: 20 AWG ≤ 4A; 18 AWG ≤ 6A; 16 AWG ≤ 10A.
Minimum last-light voltage: 12V ≥ 9V; 24V ≥ 18V; 36V ≥ 24V; 48V ≥ 24V.
GC08: 4 standard output ports, maximum 150W per standard output. 350W box planned usable load ≤280W; 600W box planned usable load ≤480W. Each GC08 also has 2 auxiliary power-injection connections.
Decision logic: branch voltage/current problems use auxiliary power injection first when the selected GC08 still has planned total-power capacity. A larger/additional GC08 is recommended only when total fixture load exceeds the current GC08 planned usable capacity, or when the requested branch architecture cannot be supported.
